President and Director
Jenny L. Snyder
Jenny started her tenure with The Nelson Foundation in 2015, first as Program Manager, then as Director of Grantmaking. She stepped into the role of President in 2025. Previously, Jenny has worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations in both programmatic and fund development roles, most recently at The Cultural Data Project (now DataArts), where she supported arts and cultural organizations and grantmakers in their use of financial and programmatic data. Jenny holds a BA in Music and minor in Business Administration from West Virginia University, an MA in Arts Administration from Drexel University, and a Women’s Leadership Development Certificate from Villanova University. She resides with her family in Delaware County, where she serves on the Grantmaking Board of Advisors for Project W at The Communities Foundation, and can usually be found enjoying arts programs at the local community center, volunteering at her daughters’ school, or out walking with her rescue dogs, Bob and Darla.

Alexandra (Mindy) A. Aldridge
Mindy has had a diverse career that includes working for the Federal government, for a non-profit, 15 years in financial services, eight years teaching social studies and history, and most recently 16 years working with The Nelson Foundation –first as a director, and since 2010 on staff and Board. She finds that her roles at the Foundation leverage many of her skills and is a rewarding blend of her work experience and long-term interests. A graduate of Duke University, Mindy also holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School and an MA in History from Villanova. Outside of work, she has served on numerous Boards and enjoys golf, reading, pot gardening, and travel. She and her husband live in the suburbs of Philadelphia where they maintain an “empty nester” household –except for a rescue dog and a parrot.

Elaine Gonzalez Johnson
Elaine comes to the Foundation with more than 15 years of experience in community engagement, educational program development, and strategic marketing. She most recently served as the Education Program Specialist at Penn State Abington, where she oversaw and designed non-credit courses, most notably developing a Women in Entrepreneurship Certificate. She has also held program management roles at The School District of Philadelphia and is an award-winning entrepreneur, visionary, podcast host, and speaker who inspires others through her passion for faith, family, and wellness. As the Founder and Executive Director of Latinas in Motion, a national organization encouraging women of color to get active and prioritize wellness, Elaine has empowered women throughout the world to lead healthier, purpose-filled lives.
A proud Philadelphia native and marathon runner, Elaine lives in Cheltenham with her husband and children. She holds a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from Bloomsburg University and a Master’s in Higher Education from Drexel University.
