President and Director

Alexandra (Mindy) A. Aldridge

Mindy has had a diverse career that includes working for the Federal government, for a non-profit, 15 years in financial services, eight years teaching social studies and history, and most recently 16 years working with The Nelson Foundation –first as a director, and since 2010 on staff and Board. She finds that her roles at the Foundation leverage many of her skills and is a rewarding blend of her work experience and long-term interests. A graduate of Duke University, Mindy also holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School and an MA in History from Villanova. Outside of work, she has served on numerous Boards and enjoys golf, reading, pot gardening, and travel. She and her husband live in the suburbs of Philadelphia where they maintain an “empty nester” household –except for a rescue dog and a parrot.

Communications and Outreach Manager

Peter M. Ndaita

Peter works with The Nelson Foundation as the Communications and Outreach Manager. His fiction and non-fiction work has been featured in national and international publications. Peter holds a Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Peter and his family reside in West Philly, where they cherish the vibrant art and food scene, as well as the opportunity to run, stroll, and picnic along the Schuylkill River. An avid soccer fan, Peter is a regular at Subaru Park and eagerly anticipates the moment when the Philadelphia Union shall win their first MLS Cup.

Director of Grantmaking

Jenny L. Snyder

Jenny has been working with The Nelson Foundation since 2015, first as Program Manager and now as the Director of Grantmaking, managing all aspects of the Foundation’s grant programs. She especially enjoys building relationships with grantees. Previously, Jenny worked for a variety of nonprofit organizations in both programmatic and fund development roles, and most recently was on staff at The Cultural Data Project (now DataArts), where she supported arts and cultural organizations and grantmakers in their understanding and use of financial and programmatic data. Jenny has a BA in Music and minor in Business Administration from West Virginia University and an MA in Arts Administration from Drexel University.  She resides in Delaware County, where she can usually be found doing activities with her kids, walking the dog, or baking goodies to share with friends and neighbors.
